Boom! Sony's new PSP2 is a PS3 in your pocket~

In the wee early hours of the morning, Sony announced what had been rumored for months: the PSP2, code-named NGP (tentative title for the handheld and short for Next Generation Portable)~

It will be released this holiday season, but no pricing has been announced yet~

I guess UMDs are DEAD. The PDP2 uses flash cards that look very similar to an SD card. No more spinning discs equals faster game loading times and no more scratched media. Hooray! Big smiles everyone. Cartridges win again and so do physical retailers that sell games. Sony didn't mention how large each game cart would hold. guessing more than the 1.8GB that a UMD can, if PS3-quality games are going to be stored~

Oh yeah! It houses a quad-core ARM Cortex A9 processor (not sure what the clock speed is) and uses an SGX543MP4+ GPU. No details on the amount of RAM, but it looks to be beefy with all the tasks this baby can handle~

Yoru Café : Japanese Canned Coffee/Whiskey Blend~

Released throughout Tokyo on January 19, Yoru Café (Night Café) is a concoction of coffee beans, tea leaves, milk, caramel syrup, and of course 4% whiskey. In addition, it's is available in two flavors: caffe latte liquor and tea liquor...the low-volume beer retails for 148 JPY ($1.80 USD)~

...it's designed to attract young and successful Japanese men and women who typically prefer sipping on coffee to chugging some good ol' fashioned beer. It's a brave move by Kirin to try and get hold of a market segment that has gradually been losing interest in beer~

The beauty of Yoru Café and its rival is that they allow young drinkers to enjoy the taste of coffee and catch a comfortable buzz, while at the same time avoiding a hangover~

The LED smiles~

The new fashion accessories created by Japanese designers Motoi Ishibashi and Daito Manabe, and are now being used in a commercial advertising a winter sale at a Japanese clothing store, Laforet Harajuku. Motoi Ishibashi said the pair was inspired by "LED throwies," or bundles of LED lights attached to a magnet. The LED smiles can easily be affixed to your teeth and glow different colors while you smile. The colors can be changed wirelessly through a computer interface. Of course they work best in the dark~

ps: im headed home tomorrow from Hawaii so ill be able to post a lil more~

Han Solo's in Firefly?!~

As it turns out, a Han Solo in Carbonite was brought on set since Nathan Fillion is such a huge Star Wars fan. The props team joked around and added it to sets whenever they could, it apparently became a running joke. It didn't get grabbed out of every scene before shooting though~

The Message - look above Kaylee's hammock on the top right~

Heart of Gold - look just above Mal's left shoulder~

Jaynestown - look just to the right of the bartender's head~

Objects in Space - look to the left of Book on the counter~

There's a rumor that there's one hidden in every episode, but these are the only ones I could dig up. It makes me extraordinarily happy to know about this hidden gem in the Firefly 'verse~

The car features a NES cart for a key, an arcade button for a starter, and the projector installed into the headlights, which allow people to play and display games with the vehicle itself. Bottled Monster Hunter?~

Asahi made this drink to celebrate the launch in the series of the hit game “Monster Hunter Portable 3d” hence the odd drink name “Monster Hunter.” The “Dodecamin” part of the name is just a mash-up of the Japanese word “Dodeca” meaning ’super-power’ and the engrish word “Vitamin.”

As odd as the overwrought graphics on the label look and as unwieldily the name of the product is, you would be surprised what a glass of Dodecamin Monster Hunter drink looks like. glass of dodecamin monster hunter drink~

And, it tastes about as peculiar as it looks—a bilious yellow, nearly flat carbonated, fruit-flavored, vitamin drink containing, “fructose glucose, honey, citrulline, guarana, maca, citric acid, etc.” Yum~

It turns out that Asahi has a whole series of Monster Hunter drinks as shown below, which will be marketed for a limited time~

From B's To D's: The Chinese Breast Shaker~

The Top Charming titty jiggler is supposed to grow breasts by vibrating them to stimulate the blood flow or something. I honestly don't know. What I do know is there's a 5:00 video after the jump that's half titty-twitchin' and half somebody pretending to be a scientist making up a bunch of bullshit about how it actually works. Which, SPOILER: it doesn't. As a man who tries to play with breasts as much as possible, no amount of shaking will make them grow~
