Arblu shower washes the scent of poor people right off

Nothing says "I'm rich!" like an unnecessarily fancy shower. And boy, are Arblu's new showers unnecessarily fancy. Using a showerhead that rains water straight down on you either with a normal amount of pressure or a water massage. It's painted up in a bright red, which is a power color, as I'm sure you know, and look like it would need to have a bathroom built around it rather than just installing in your current home. But hey, you've got enough scratch to make that not much of a hassle, right?~

Each individual wetsuit is custom made and tailored to your exact measurements for a perfect fit and unmatched performance. A Subway sandwich shop dangling from a crane~

Most Subway shops are pretty accessible to the normal lunchtime crowd. But the new one being introduced to the workers at the new tower at Ground Zero in NYC, well, it's a little harder to access: it's in a shipping container being held up by a crane~

Yes, it's a full-blown Subway with a full menu and fresh baked bread every day. It's location allows workers on the skyscraper to eat without going all the way down to the ground, which saves precious time. As the building goes up, so will the Subway, jumping up floor to floor with its crane~

LED dress lights up for pollution, not a cigarette~

When fashion and tech mix, I am torn between thinking, "Wow, way to go," and "Jeez, is that really necessary?" This Climate dress from Danish design company Diffus has hundreds of LEDs that light up when air pollution is detected. So, apart from attracting moths and geeky guys when the sun goes down, how does it work?~

Hidden somewhere about this dress is an Arduino Lilypad microprocessor and a carbon dioxide monitor. Conductive embroidery transmits info from the monitor to the lights, which flash at various speeds depending on the concentration of the greenhouse gases. Much as I like the embroidery, I'm not sold on the shape of it — big bustle-y-thingy, baby — but I guess you've got to appreciate the thinking behind this. My one question, what happens to the lights if you fart?~

Vespa South Africa has built a “Stretch Scooter” which can seat four people, and has two rear ends of the scooter put one after the other. Vespa called it "a family car on two wheels and kids will look forward to going to school on it. You can be the designated driver and can still park outside the front door of the party"~

Here’s the latest red band trailer for Mark Millar’s live-action adaptation of the Kick-Ass comic. This trailer focuses on Hit Girl, the little kid whose moves put Kill Bill’s The Bride to shame~

I’m so freaking glad that a big studio is actually backing a movie where little kids curse up a storm and kill people in gory ways. I guess the stick lodged up America’s ass isn’t as far up their as I thought~

Astronauts set to enjoy space sushi for the first time~

When Expedition 22 launched yesterday from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, it carried not only three astronauts destined for the International Space Station, but raw seafood as well. Apparently that's what happens when you train a trio of astronauts in Japan: they turn into sushi nuts~

Luckily one of the astronauts is a capable sushi chef. Japan's Soichi Noguchi joins NASA's Timothy Creamer and Russia's Oleg Kotov, and Noguchi has promised to whip up a little sushi dinner for his fellow astronauts, saying, "We had training in Japan and I trained (my space colleagues) to be sushi lovers, so I am going to make a couple of flavors of sushi." He says the crew will be able to look forward to "...some sashimi, and raw fish and sushi and I will bring that up to the space station to share with my crew."~

Creamer, the expedition leader, says that he will be tweeting from the ISS — check out his feed here and maybe we'll get a review of Noguchi's sushi~

Santa's sleigh gets a major upgrade~

Everyone knows Father Christmas has a reindeer-powered wooden sleigh, except evidently Land Rover's crafty designers, who've updated the humble vehicle with some much-needed aluminum~

Car Magazine is running a week-long sleigh-fest, with this Land Rover design featuring height adjustable suspension and a particle accelerator. Just what every jolly chimney-climber needs~

Land Rover said on the sleigh:

"Land Rover Design with Santa Claus reveals the Christmas sledge of the future – designed to meet the ever-increasing delivery timetable. It boasts all-terrain capability, is powered by particle accelerator technology and has optional laser guided present delivery. There's even CRS – chimney recognition software!"~

Robotic Bees Can Pollinate Your Garden, Save the World~

So most of us would be all like “yippee” over the fact that bee populations have been steadily declining. Hooray! No more pretending to ignore them so they just leave us alone! No more running like a little girl! But see, losing bees could be bad… very bad. Pollination is crucial for the survival of all of our yummy crops. So these robotic bees might not only be less scary to those who happen to fall into shock if they’re stung, but they could also save our farms, oh and possibly victims of natural disasters~

That’s right, someday down the line, these little buggers are bound to save your life if you, say, get stuck in the rubble of an earthquake or something equally devastating. So yay for that!~

MAD's Urban Forest skyscraper is simply that: mad~

You may remember MAD Architects from their equally mad designs, such as this star-shaped floating city. Now they've got the wobbly-looking, 1,250-foot-high Urban Forest for Chongqing, China that does away with the traditional walled skyscraper for one that's a series of terraces~

From MAD:

...The Urban Forest no longer emphasizes on vertical force, instead it concentrates on the multidimensional relationships within complex anthropomorphic spaces: multilayer sky gardens, floating patios and minimal and yet well lit nesting spaces, the architectural form dissolves into the fluid spatial movements between air, wind, and light. In this environment, people encounter nature filled with unexpected surprises~

Gakken mini electric guitar kit rocks

The guys at Japan’s Gakken Otona no Kagaku Magazine are at it again, this time, they’ve created a really cool kit that lets you build your own mini electric guitar. Now, I’m not talking about the type the comes with Rock Band or Guitar Hero either. This smaller-than-life guitar actually has strings, a fret board, a pickup and electronic circuitry for playing real analog music~

The short-necked 4-string electric guitar kit includes everything you need to build your own electric guitar, along with detailed photographic assembly instructions (in Japanese!) From what I can tell, it sounds like there’s a tiny built-in amp and speaker, but you’ll really want to plug it into a regular guitar amp with a standard 1/4-inch connector if you want to rock out.

The guitar comes with the December 17th issue of the magazine, and if you happen to live in Japan, you can order from the Gakken Shop for ¥3675 (appx. $42 USD). The rest of us can pre-order the kit over at VeryCoolThings for $59.99 (USD)~

In addition to a wireless sensor system, the device can also be controlled by remote control using a tiny touchpad. itazura kitty coin bank : like ceiling cat, but in a cardboard box~

Whether they’re playing keyboards, eating spaghetti and cheeseburgers, or just plain acting surprised, the Internet has more cats than it has porn. Take for instance, this so-cute-you-wanna-puke gadget from Japan, which also happens to feature a surprise cat~

The Itazura coin bank might look like a cardboard box, but put a coin on the plate, and your feline pal will stick his tiny little paw up and grab your money. Now why a tiny cat in a cardboard box needs money is anyone’s guess, but I’m betting he’s got a bad catnip habit to feed~

Ski goggle technology leaps forward with a head-up display~

Using traditional tech gadgets can be a royal pain when you're all bundled up in a big parka and gloves for the slopes. Just getting to your watch under all that clothing is tough, never mind trying to read the trail map or answering a cell phone call from your other ski buddies~

Getting this type of information on the slopes will become much easier, once these new goggles from Recon Instruments hit the stores next year. The built in head-up display can show you a trail map including the positions of your ski mates, performance information such as your speed and jump height, and local information including the altitude and temperature. There's even a way to use the GPS function to guide rescuers if you happen to wipe out and need help~

Recon says that a couple of models will be available next year, although as you might expect such technology won't be cheap with prices starting around $350~
