Ice chess – Game over if it melts!~

This was one of those games, played almost a fortnight back, where winning was a not a criteria. The clash between Russian and British chess masters Anatoly Karpov and Nigel Short (respectively) ended up in a draw, ending the “cold war”~

The pieces were made from ice; some of these pieces were carved in a way that they represented various famous landmarks of the two cities. The game was held on a chessboard measuring 64 square yards, with each team being allotted 30 seconds for each move~
