Report: Mickey Rourke signs to play villain in Iron Man 2~


Nikki Finke's Deadline Hollywood reports that Mickey Rourke has signed a deal to appear in Iron Man 2. The site reports that Rourke signed on for the role of the Russian villain in the sequel after at first being low-balled by the studio to the tune of $250,000; the star's salary is reportedly significantly higher~

The site adds that Sony was considering hiring Rourke to play the villain in Spider-Man 4.Rourke happens to be in Russia this week promoting Fox Searchlight's The Wrestler, and Finke reports that he'll start researching his new role immediately there~

this news has been called rumor on and off but it looks like he will indeed be playing the russian villian~

    i swear, if not for the scarring, Mickey Roarke would look exactly like Russel Crowe right now, except thinner
